Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee – Maharashtra Scheme

Brief information about the scheme:-

1. Objectives:-

    To provide employment to unskilled laborers in rural areas

 To create irrigation facilities and physical capital for sustainable development of rural areas.

2. Criteria:-

a) Criteria for getting unskilled employment under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme:-

 Must be a resident of rural areas

.  Must have completed 18 years of age.

 Must be registered under the scheme.

 Must demand work.

b) Criteria for getting benefit of individual work:- As mentioned in paragraph – 4 of notification two of the Maharashtra Employment Guarantee Act 1977 (as amended up to 6th August 2014), priority will be given to the families of the following categories while providing benefit works. – Scheduled Castes – Scheduled Tribes – Nomadic Tribes – Deprived Scheduled Tribes (Vimukt Jatis) – Other families below the poverty line – Families with female head – Families with physically disabled head – Beneficiaries of land reforms – Beneficiaries under Indira Awas Yojana – Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers (recognition of forest rights)

c) Required documents:-

 Documents required for getting unskilled employment under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee  Scheme:-

• Aadhaar card number

• Copy of bank/post account number/passbook

 Documents required according to the type of work to avail the benefit of individual work:- • Seven twelve of land • Eight of land sample • Land map • Consent letter if the agricultural land is collective
